PUBLICATION OF CMAC RULES

The Commission announces the publication of its rules which were developed in terms of Section 64 (1) (d) of the Industrial Relations Act of 2000 as amended. The rules have been published through legal notice number 22 of the Government Gazette dated 22nd February 2008.  They came into effect on the same date.

These rules will now regulate the Commission’s conduct and procedures in dealing with labour disputes. We wish to encourage all our stakeholders to obtain a copy of these rules and acquaint themselves with their contents as they do not only provide a guide on how one conducts business at the Commission but are also binding to all individuals and organizations using the processes of the Commission.

The Commission has prepared a few bound copies obtainable from the two major offices in Mbabane and Manzini at a small fee.

CMAC CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This notice serves to inform all the members of the public, our stakeholders and clientele, that the Commission has introduced a new computerized system for its operations. The new system is called the Case Management System (CMS). This system is a result of the Commission’s strategic initiative to ensure that the Commission lives up to its mission statement.

The Case Management System (CMS) was officially introduced on the 1st April 2008 and it is now being utilized by the Commission in executing its operations. This system is aimed at making the handling of disputes easier to improve service delivery and speedy dispute resolution.

The new system has brought changes in the operations of the Commission which one has to note. These changes involve our stakeholders and are listed below;

  • The case numbers are now different as from the 1st April 2008. For example, a case reported in the Manzini Region will have a case number in the form of SWMZ000-08; the old reference number was MNZ 000/08 and the only difference is that the new case numbers now start with “SW” for Swaziland.

  • Every applicant is now required to produce an ID document when reporting a case with the Commission. Please ensure you produce your ID number when reporting a case.

  • Email addresses for both parties, the applicant and respondent, are also necessary in the event the parties have such.

The Commission is committed to making its services more efficient and faster for its clients and stakeholders. The introduction of the CMS is another way we aim to achieve our objectives of speedy dispute resolution and also live up to our mission statement.
